(Sisters, OR) -The fifth-largest radio market in Louisiana will now be measured by Eastlan. The Houma-Thibodaux-Morgan City 12+ population of just over 240,000 makes it one of the 170 largest rated radio markets in United States.

"For the last several years, we have been watching Eastlan’s development as a viable provider of quality research for smaller markets,” says Owen Weber of Guaranty Broadcasting. “We have decided Guaranty Broadcasting will join the considerable number of small market broadcasters that are successfully using Eastlan’s cost effective audience measurement estimates. Beginning with the Spring 2005 period, Eastlan will be producing a market report that includes the ‘Tri-Parrish’ trading area of Terrebonne, Lafourche and St. Mary Parish, the natural market west of the New Orleans metropolitan area."

“Small market broadcasters have to focus on R-O-I while at the same time providing their advertisers with reliable ratings data,” remarked Eastlan President Mike Gould. “The Houma-Thibodaux-Morgan City radio market is currently lost because of its proximity to New Orleans. This new data will help the radio market take more of the revenue it deserves.”

Eastlan’s first measurement in the new Houma-Thibodaux-Morgan City market will be during the Spring 2005 survey period utilizing a sample of 1,500.

Eastlan Resources is privately held media-research firm headquartered in Wenatchee, Washington with offices in Issaquah, Washington (Seattle) and Sisters, Oregon (Portland). Eastlan was formed in 1999 and provides radio audience measurement data to over 300 subscribing radio stations in more than 80 markets across the United States.
